Welcome to the 2020 MasterWorks Festival application!
SPARTANBURG, June 2, 2020 — The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the MasterWorks Chamber & Intensive Festival from July 5-19, 2020! By placing special emphasis on chamber music, MasterWorks students will learn collaborative skills vitally important to their musical development. Students will have twice daily rehearsals and faculty coachings with our world class faculty, and ample opportunities for on-campus performances. The MasterWorks experience also includes masterclasses, Bible studies, faculty devotionals, and even some virtual guest appearances from artists such as Phil Smith, New York Philharmonic Principal Trumpet 1978-2014, Conductor Delta David Gier, Music Director South Dakota Symphony, and Conductor Ken-David Masur, Music Director of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.
With generous support from our host, Converse College, MasterWorks is able to offer students single room occupancy and bathroom/sink. MasterWorks will follow the protocols of Converse College, the City of Spartanburg, and South Carolina as well as federal guidelines. The festival will be smaller this year, but we already have over 55 students and space for only about 18 more as of June 2. This will be a unique and wonderful festival!
