Jerry Noble

Jerry Noble is Director of Percussion at Wright State University, a member of the Dayton Philharmonic, serves as President of the Percussive Arts Society-Ohio Chapter, and has performed throughout the US to include Hawaii, Alaska, and the Virgin Islands.

He appears regularly as an extra/substitute percussionist with the Cincinnati Symphony, Cincinnati Pops, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Concert:Nova, and the Toledo Symphony. Jerry has also been a guest assistant principal/section timpanist with the Cincinnati Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, and has been guest principal timpanist with the Alabama Symphony, Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, West Virginia Symphony, and the New Mexico Symphony.

He has also worked with noted chamber musicians Eighth Blackbird, Bob Becker, Mike Burritt, and has collaborated on chamber music projects with members of the Cleveland Orchestra, Boston Conservatory, Indianapolis Symphony, and the Cincinnati Symphony. He regularly presents clinics and performances at other universities and Days of Percussion. Previously, Jerry was a member of the USAF Band of Flight where he performed over 1,500 concerts throughout the Midwest with the Concert Band, Brass Quintet, and Jazz Band; including performances for presidents, vice presidents, and other heads of state. He has also toured the Caribbean as a drummer for Princess Cruises and has served as percussion staff/arranger with the University of Cincinnati Bearcats Band.

Jerry has enjoyed working with some of the world’s finest conductors to include: Paavo Jarvi, Louis Langre, Michael Tilson Thomas, Leonard Slatkin, Eric Kunzel, Ludovic Morlot, Jahja Ling, Jun Markl, Giancarlo Guerrero, and has performed with Sir James Galway, Janos Starker, and Dr. Maya Angelou. Recording credits include the Cincinnati Symphony, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, USAF Band of Flight, and the Dayton Philharmonic. Degrees are from UC-College Conservatory of Music, Indiana University, and Cleveland State. He has studied with the members of the Percussion Group Cincinnati, Gerald Carlyss, and Tom Freer.

Jerry Noble is an artist/clinician Pearl/Adams musical instruments, Zildjian cymbals, D’Addario and Co., and serves as a consultant for Evans heads.

He and his wife Ashley reside in Dayton and have three children: Ava, Lydia, and Isaac.
