What is one of your favorite memories from a previous year at MasterWorks?

Last MasterWorks, a group of students organized a time of praise and worship music. It lasted for a few hours, and was one of the most beautiful expressions of unity in the Body of Christ that I have ever experienced. There were Christians from many different backgrounds, but our differences meant nothing for those hours. We prayed together and sang together, and I just remember this sense of peace among us. MasterWorks is a unique environment where we can remember that Christians really are in this together, and that our common bond in Christ is much stronger than the disagreements that try to separate us.

What are you most looking forward to experiencing at MasterWorks 2016?
I look forward to being strengthened by people who care as much about faith as they do about music. The two are inseparable for me. I come back to MasterWorks year after year because it’s so refreshing to find that.

What is one of your favorite memories from a previous year at MasterWorks?

One of my favorite memories from MasterWorks was frantically running to the lake to swim with Allison right before an evening concert and making it back just in the nick of time!

What are you most looking forward to experiencing at MasterWorks 2016?

I most look forward to the challenge of taking on a leadership position as an apprentice this summer and getting to know all the new faces God brings every summer!

What is one of your favorite memories from a previous year at MasterWorks?

One of my favorite moments from MasterWorks in 2014 was being able to play in the Honors Recital. It’s great that students have the opportunity to participate in these kinds of events, and I liked being part of what felt like a small competition in a friendly environment with many really talented students.

What are you most looking forward to experiencing at MasterWorks 2016?

I’m looking forward to continuing to learn how we can use our art to exalt God and His creation as well as touch people’s lives through our music. I am really excited to see and experience the new ideas that are prepared for MasterWorks this year in both the musical and the Christian aspect.

Program: Orchestra (Viola)

What is one of your favorite memories from a previous year at MasterWorks?

One part I remember was meeting people with a love for music from all over the world. There may have been a language gap between us at times, however, we could create melodies together than bridged that barrier. It was a remarkable experience.

What are you most looking forward to experiencing at MasterWorks 2016?

Forming new relationships and creating music together to praise God.
