Work-Study and Service

At MasterWorks, we desire to see all students develop the heart of a servant. All students are expected to contribute to service needs during the festival, displaying the heart of a servant.  We plan to have many of these service opportunities assigned prior to the Festival so that you can plan accordingly.  They will be in the categories of, but not limited to, ushering, stage managing, setting up and breaking down stages, and outreach concerts.

For Festival 2020, we have 9 work-study specific positions available for four-week students.  These positions will require some time ahead of the festival in addition to during the Festival working with our Tech supervisor to organize for a smooth running festival. 

            Work Study opportunities [stipend/discount] $150/week

1.     Ushers—Three main ushers will assist with hospitality and management of audience care during concerts and recitals.  These teams will also assist in securing helpers during the Festival.  Some of the organization may be able to take place prior to the Festival.  This position is directly managed by Ian O’Donnell, Tech supervisor and operations manager.

2.     Stage manager—Three main stage manager openings will be responsible for managing the stage during rehearsals and concerts.  This position is directly managed by Ian O’Donnell, tech supervisor and operations manager.

3.     Facilities manager— Three facilities management openings responsible for equipment needs on stage and set up and take down of stages before and after concerts and recitals.  This position is directly managed by Ian O’Donnell, tech supervisor and operations manager.

Qualifications:  Experience in event organization, willingness to follow directions, willingness to lead and solve problems, good time management, attentiveness to the needs of others, proactive problem management (you notice the conductor is missing his /her baton and solve), etc.

Stipend amount–$150/week
